Minnesota Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, provide or remove an official booking photo, post bond, or retrieve a government record. Only the agency or court that holds the record can answer those questions.
Choose the Minnesota Record Holder
Minnesota keeps arrest and custody information at more than one level. The arresting police department may hold the incident record, a county jail may hold the booking entry, MNDOC holds records for people under its jurisdiction, and the court holds case events. Start with the county where the arrest occurred or with the source named on a prior notice.
- For a county arrest, use the Minnesota County Directory to find the local sheriff or jail source.
- For the booking record or photo, the statewide lookup page explains the records-request path and what each county source can show.
- For a person under state prison or supervision jurisdiction, search the MNDOC offender records or contact DOC Records Management.
- For a court outcome, use Minnesota Court Records Online; its search results are unofficial and incomplete.
- For federal custody, use the BOP inmate locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator. BOP is not a county roster and does not provide a public booking-photo gallery.

DOC public-data requests ยท offender record requests
DOC asks requesters to describe the record clearly. The department is not required to create data or provide it in a format it does not keep. For a county booking image, contact the local custodian instead; a state request does not reach every county or city file.
